Good afternoon JRCSD community, 

I want to inform you that the school board will hold a special meeting on Monday, October 2nd at 6:30 p.m. in the RMS Gymnasium in order to allow registered voters of Jaffrey and Rindge to vote on some additional funding that has been provided to the district. 

The state of New Hampshire has alerted us that we will be receiving additional adequate education grant funding above and beyond what we had originally anticipated. Due to how state law works, in order to accept these funds as a part of our budget for the 2023-24 school year, we have to hold a special meeting to allow registered voters an opportunity to approve or deny the district's ability to spend the additional $252,166 received. 

While voting yes on Article 1 for this additional appropriation will raise the overall district budget, there will be no additional tax impact to either town as the increase to the budget will be covered by the adequacy aid we are due to receive from the state. 

Should voters approve the use of this funding, we intend to use the money to pay for facilities-related work throughout the district. We have done a lot of work recently to update flooring and painting to give our learners and staff a great learning/working environment. We have received positive feedback about the new flooring at CMHS and JGS (the school logos in the flooring, in particular, have been a point of pride for many), and we would love to continue to improve our learning environments.
