The Jaffrey-Rindge Cooperative School District will participate in National Walk to School Day this year!
This year, Walk to School Day is held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. Each school in the district will participate in the event. We encourage participation, but it is not required. More information on how to participate at each school can be found below.
Walk to School Day is a global event that promotes physical activity and to raise awareness of the need to create safer routes for students walking, rolling, and bicycling to school.
Jaffrey Grade School
Regular Walkers: May walk directly to the front of JGS. Staff members will greet students as usual.
Bus Riders: The bus company is working with us to support Walk to School Day. The buses will drop off students at St. Patrick’s Church parking lot. Students will walk down Charlonne Street to the school.
Car Riders: Please drop off at the St. Patrick’s Church parking lot between 8:20 a.m. and 8:35 a.m. Please enter through the driveway closest to the church and exit from the other driveway. Students will walk down Main Street to Charlonne Street and enter the school grounds. Staff/Volunteers will be stationed here from 8:20 a.m. to 8:40 a.m.
Preschool: Students should come to school their regular way.

Rindge Memorial School
Bus Riders: Buses will stop at the Common to drop off students. Students will walk down School Street to go to school.
Car Riders: Students will walk down from School Street to the school. Staff/volunteers will be stationed along the route and at the school from 8:!5 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Parents are welcome to park at the library or town office and walk with their child to school. If you drop your student off by car, you are welcome to drop off at the Meeting House from 8:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. The school will direct drivers on where to go.
Preschool: Students should come to school their regular way.
We are looking for volunteers to meet buses and walk with those students. We are also looking for volunteers to be stationed along the route and to help with traffic. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact RMS Principal Kelly Marcotte at [email protected].
Jaffrey-Rindge Middle School/Conant High School
Regular Walkers: May walk directly to Stadium Field, 84 Turnpike Road. Teachers and administrators will greet learners as they arrive.
Busers: The bus company is working with us to support Walk to School Day. They will drop learners off at Stadium Field. If a learner requires a drop off at the school (ex: on crutches, etc.) transportation from the field to the school will be provided by the bus company.
Car Riders: If you drop your learner off by car, you are welcome to drop off at Stadium Field, 84 Turnpike Road, between 7:05 a.m. and 7:15 a.m.
Once everyone arrives at Stadium Field, they will walk together to JRMS/CHS. Every learner will receive a healthy snack!
