The Jaffrey-Rindge Cooperative School District Student Services Department will destroy records that have been collected, maintained and/or used in providing special education services for special education students born in 1992 or before. This activity is in compliance with federal, state and local policies. The destruction of data policy provides that records may be destroyed when they are no longer needed for educational purposes. Jaffrey-Rindge Cooperative School District Board Policy EHB-R: Data Storage and Record Retention Procedures, Approved: December 16, 2010, outlines the procedures for record retention and destruction. With regard to students with special needs, the policy states, “All records should be maintained until the student reaches the age of 27. Records should be maintained permanently if the district has reason to suspect that the student poses high risk for litigation or student is chronically mentally incompetent.” This notification is also aligned with New Hampshire Ed 1119.01 (b) (1) and United States 34 CFR § 300.624. This destruction is scheduled to take place on July 31, 2022.

Students Affected: This destruction policy applies to Special Education Students born in or prior to 1992 only.

Records will be provided only to former students 18 years of age or older of legal guardian(s) of said student. Record release requires photo identification.
