School Board Decision RE: Masking - February 21, 2022

School Board Decision RE: Masking - February 21, 2022
Posted on 02/21/2022
Important Update GraphicGood evening JRCSD families and staff,

I hope you have enjoyed the opening day of February break.

I am reaching out to inform you that after a review of regional, state, and local COVID-19 data, the JRCSD school board voted tonight to move the district into the green level of the COVID-19 Mitigation Strategies Matrix, effective Tuesday, February 22, 2022. This means that masking will be optional and social distancing will not be required, regardless of school district or community transmission rates. This applies to all locations on district properties. The board will continue to review COVID-19 data trends at its regular school board meetings.

Just as a reminder, masks are still required on public transportation (which includes school buses) due to the current CDC order. We will inform you should this change.

Additionally, the school board voted to lessen the communication requirements surrounding positive COVID-19 cases. We will no longer be reporting cases daily via email and social media. Starting Monday, February 28th, you will be able to find the active case numbers for each school in the COVID-19 Mitigation Strategies Matrix, which is available on our website

Enjoy the rest of your break.
