Good evening JRCSD families and staff,
There are three topics I would like to communicate to you about before we get into the weekend:
1. Bus Route Changes
2. COVID-19 Cases
3. School Board Meeting
Bus Route Changes
Our bus company, Community Transportation has notified us of some permanent changes to bus routes for this school year. As I announced earlier this week, the bus company is experiencing a driver shortage this school year. In order to ensure that they are able to cover all of our transportation needs - which includes morning and afternoon routes for all four schools, out-of-district learning transportation, field trips, and sports - Community Transportation will eliminate Jaffrey bus route 47 and combine those bus stops with other routes.
The bus routes that will be impacted by this change (other than bus route 47) include Jaffrey bus routes 49, 50, and 52. The bus company did what they could to minimize the changes to pick up and drop off times. Please be sure to review the updated bus route lists to see if your pickup time has been changed. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.
These changes will take effect this upcoming Monday, October 4, 2021.
COVID-19 Cases
I was notified today of two (2) positive COVID-19 cases at JRMS. Neither person has been in the building since September 27th.
The state notified us today of a confirmed cluster that has impacted our school district. In total, four of the cases that we announced over the past week or so have all spent time on bus #48.
We remain in the yellow category of our COVID-19 Mitigation Strategies Matrix. It is recommended that all individuals wear masks while inside the buildings.
School Board Meeting
We will have a regularly scheduled school board meeting on Monday, October 4. This meeting is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. and will be held in the CHS Music Room and via Zoom. A copy of the agenda can be found on the website. One item on the agenda will be a facilities presentation regarding updates to our HVAC contract and project, parking lots, bathrooms, and other health and safety related facilities projects.
Have a good weekend
