Good evening JRCSD families and staff,
I would like to bring three (3) items to your attention:
1. Co-curricular Survey
2. Illness/COVID-19 Update
3. 2nd Quarter Illness/COVID-19 Practices
Co-curricular Survey
We want to provide the best possible co-curricular experiences for our learners. In order to do this, we need your help and insight. We ask that if you have not done so already, please take a few moments to complete the JRCSD Co-curricular Activities Survey.
The information you provide will be used to inform our short-range and long-range planning for how best to develop and support co-curricular experiences and learning opportunities for our learners. This survey will be closed on Sunday evening, November 7, 2021.
Illness/COVID-19 Update
I was notified today of two (2) confirmed positive COVID-19 cases, one (1) at CHS and one (1) at RMS. The individual at CHS was last in the building on Monday, November 1. The individual at RMS was last in the building on Tuesday, October 26. We remain in the yellow category of our COVID-19 Mitigation Strategies Matrix. It is recommended that all individuals wear masks while inside our school facilities.
2nd Quarter Illness/COVID-19 Practices
On Monday, November 1, 2021, the school board discussed the current Illness/COVID-19 mitigation plan for the district. After a presentation and some discussion, the school board voted to stay with our current Illness/COVID-19 practices with the exception of indoor winter sporting events. For winter sports, with the exception of the players actively playing on the court, all individuals in our school gymnasiums will be required to wear masks. Additionally, when we practice or compete in other facilities, we will follow the rules and regulations set forth by the other schools or organizations. We will do our best to stream home games.
As you may have already heard, the CDC recently gave final approval for the Pfizer vaccine to be offered to children ages 5-11. In some locations in New Hampshire the vaccine may be available as early as this weekend. Should our district be allowed to offer an onsite vaccination option for families, we will be sure to let you know.
Have a nice evening,
Reuben Duncan
JRCSD Superintendent
