Good evening JRCSD staff and families,
Before we head into the weekend, I wanted to make you all aware of the district's upcoming deliberative session.
If you are a registered voter in Jaffrey or Rindge, you are able to attend and participate in the district's deliberative session, which will take place on Wednesday, February 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the RMS Gymnasium. The deliberative session is considered the first session of the voting process and allows voters to hear about the warrant articles, and then comment on them and/or make changes to them. It is at this meeting that the warrant articles will be finalized for the official vote in March.
We have ten warrant articles in total this year, which can be found here. Warrant articles this year include our proposed operating budget, cost items associated with the JREA and JRSSA collective bargaining agreements, a lease/purchasing agreement to finish our HVAC work throughout the district, requests to add funds to the Building Maintenance Capital Reserve Fund and Special Education Contingency Fund, and a petition article asking the district to make all instructional materials available at each town library. Early next week, I will send out an email with key details about these warrant articles.
If you would like your voice to be heard publicly about any of these articles, or if you would like to ask questions about them, the deliberative session is an appropriate place to do so. We will also be livestreaming the event via Zoom, but unlike how our school board meetings currently operate, the livestream will be for observation purposes only (no voting or public comments will be allowed via Zoom).
