Good evening JRCSD families and staff,
As some of you have already heard, there has been some information circulating the internet and social media over the past couple of days about possible school-related threats. This has become a nationwide issue, with news articles across the nation indicating that these threats appear to have circulated on the social networking phone app TikTok.
We have confirmed - both through the New Hampshire Department of Education and the New Hampshire Department of Safety - that they are not aware of any credible threats to any specific schools or locations in the state at this point in time.
We have not been made aware of any specific threat made towards our schools or district, but we will continue to take this situation seriously. We have notified all school administrators of this situation, and we have reached out to local police departments to arrange for an increased police presence tomorrow.
If you or your learner becomes aware of any potential threat specific to our school and/or district, please be sure to call the local police department for your town.
Positive COVID-19 Cases
I was notified today of six (6) confirmed positive COVID-19 cases, four (4) at JGS and two (2) at RMS. The individuals at JGS were last in the building on 12/13, 12/14, 12/15, and 12/16. The individuals at RMS were last in the building on 12/10 and 12/14.
Additionally, a cluster has been identified in a classroom at RMS. Individuals in that classroom will need to be masked for a period of five calendar days starting tomorrow, per the 2021-22 Reopening Framework (page 9). A letter has been sent out to impacted families regarding this matter.
Have a nice evening,
Reuben Duncan
JRCSD Superintendent
