Disposal of Special Education Records

Effective July 24,2018, the Jaffrey-Rindge Cooperative School District will be disposing special education records following the guidelines of HB 1551 in compliance with RSA 186-C:10-a requires:

I. Upon a student's graduation from high school, his or her parents may request the local education agency, in writing, to have the student's records and final individualized education program destroyed at that time or request that the records be retained until the student's twenty-sixth (26) birthday. The parents may, at any time prior to the student's twenty-sixth (26) birthday, request, in writing, that the records be retained until the student's thirtieth birthday.

II. Absent any request by a student's parents at the time of graduation, the local education agency shall destroy a student's records and final individualized education program within a reasonable time after the student's twenty-sixth (26) birthday, provided that all such records be destroyed by the student's thirtieth (30) birthday.

Services and Programs

PRESCHOOL  SCHOOL 

For 2018-2019, JRCSD will offer the following FREE preschool programs.
For 3 year olds:

•    Half-day program at Jaffrey Grade School
•    Half-day program at Rindge Memorial School    

For 4 year olds:
•    Full-day pilot program at Jaffrey Grade School
   •     Half-day program at Rindge Memorial School

To enter the lottery for any program, submit the following documents before the deadline of March 23, 2018:
•    A copy of your child’s birth certificate
•    Residency affidavit (form located on preschool webpage)
•    Two proofs of residency 

You may submit your application online or in person at Jaffrey Grade School or Rindge Memorial School.

    In accordance with Public Law 105-17 (IDEA), the District of Jaffrey/Rindge is required to actively seek, identify, and provide services to handicapped children ages 3-21. If you know of a child, living in the towns of Jaffrey or Rindge, in need of Special Education services, please call the Director of Student Services.

    CHILD FIND SCREENING

    Jaffrey-Rindge

    The Jaffrey-Rindge Cooperative School District will sponsor an area Child Find Program.  The program is designed to identify and screen children from age 2.5 through 5 who are suspected of having disabilities that may interfere with later school progress.  The screening is free and available to all families living in the towns of Jaffrey and Rindge.

    Children will be screened in the areas of learning, speech and language, and fine and gross motor skills.  

    Results of the assessments will be mailed to the parents. (Please be patient, this could take up to 3 weeks) All information will be kept confidential and will only be released to other professionals, i.e. school system or physician, with parental consent.
