Commendable Cardinal Honors the Process

As the school year winds down award ceremonies are in abundance. This year the Jaffrey-Rindge Middle School decided to honor students throughout the entire school year. Seventh grade teacher Michelle Durand discussed the impetus for developing a year-long award program. “It is  important to take time throughout the school year to honor student’s personal growth.”

The Commendable Cardinal Award is supported by the entire JRMS staff to honor and celebrate a student’s process and effort rather than outcome. Art teacher Ms. Cochran designed the award and front office heros like Ms. Pelkey assure that parents receive notification of their child’s honor.

Recipients of the monthly Commendable Cardinal Award must be nominated by a teacher. Teachers nominate students for the Commendable Cardinal Award who demonstrate positive character traits like helping fellow students, maintaining a positive attitude, perseverance, work ethic and patience with others. The final Commendable Cardinal Award Ceremony will be Thursday, May 25th in the Pratt Auditorium from 12:30-12:50. In the event of rain the ceremony will take place at 7:35 in the morning.
