JRCSD Welcomes School Board Member Heidi Graff

On March 13, the Jaffrey-Rindge Cooperative School District welcomed Heidi Graff to the School Board. Heidi has lived in Rindge for 15 years. She and her husband are parents to CHS seniors Ellie and Anna and CHS freshman Megan. Heidi served the district for six years as a K-5 Spanish teacher at Rindge Memorial School. She enjoyed working in the same school her children were attending and building relationships with RMS staff. As her children grew older Heidi decided to take time off from education to spend more time with her family.

In addition to her passion for education, Heidi has a love for the outdoors and dogs. She enjoys watching her girls play soccer and cooking is one of her hobbies. She noted that she and her family love to travel. Heidi grew up in New Hartford, New York. A little known fact: As a child Heidi figure skated for nine years.

Heidi is a dedicated parent and education advocate. She has regularly volunteered in her children’s classes and attended School Board meetings. “I really care about the quality of education in our towns. We are a small school and I feel passionately about giving students a quality education. We need to do our best to prepare students for their future after graduation, whether that means immediate employment or attending a two-year or  four-year institution of higher education.” Heidi wants to support engaging learning opportunities while recognizing that students learn in different ways.

Heidi discussed her vision for improving communication, community relations and the rollout of the district’s Strategic Design Plan.  She looks forward to “executing the strategic design process in a thoughtful and careful manner.” Heidi is excited to learn more about each of the district schools and "to celebrate the good things that are happening each and every day.”
