28th Turkey Trot Food Collection

Update: PE Teacher Jim Wilkinson reports that over 350 lbs of food has been collected by the students and staff and donated to area food pantries.

JRMS will be holding its 28th annual Turkey Trot on Monday, November 19th. The Turkey Trot is a special community service event that will benefit families in the towns of Jaffrey and Rindge. Students are asked to bring in at least one non-perishable food item (canned fruit or vegetables, soup, peanut butter, pie mix, pasta, etc.) which will be donated to the two local food pantries.

The culminating event is the running of the Turkey Trot around the athletic complex and playing fields. {Editors note: due to course conditions the Trot had to be cancelled for 2018). This has traditionally been a great community service event, giving our students a chance to reach out and serve others who will benefit from our generosity.

Last year JRMS was able to donate over 1100 lbs. of food items!
