Spear-headed by grade 7 students, Raven Groblewski, Darien Murphy, Ella Weinmann and Kelly Williams, the Jaffrey-Rindge Middle School identified the week of September 18-22 as a “Week of Giving.” The four students  came to administration with a plea that JRMS, as a school, work together to help those people and pets in need as a result of the recent hurricanes.

Administration, staff, students and parents quickly jumped on board to help. The JRMS week of giving kicked off with hat day on Monday. Students paid $1.00 and were able to wear their hats in school all day. Tuesday was a guess the amount day.  Hundreds of pieces of candy were placed in a jar and students paid .50 cents to guess the amount. Wednesday was superhero day. Again, students paid $1.00 and were able to wear their favorite superhero costume for the day. Thursday was pet donation day. Several boxes of pet food and accessories were donated to the Monadnock Humane Society. Friday was the first school dance of the year and all proceeds went to the week of giving. The grand total for the week was $1,003.00!
