JGS Gr. 5 Pioneer Day

On Thursday, February 16, JGS fifth grade students enjoyed a day filled with time traveling adventures related to their study of Westward Expansion.  After an old-fashioned spelling bee, small group activities included playing pioneer games, making rag dolls and building models of covered wagons.  One group cooked biscuits for the pioneer lunch and another worked collaboratively to create a model of a fort.  The day culminated with musical entertainment and line dancing, led by our resident fiddler, Matt Harris.
