On Wednesday, October 23, Jaffrey Grade School hosted a Traveling Program from the Boston Museum of Science. The museum and its generous sponsors offer “scholarships” to regional schools, which meant the JGS visit was provided free of charge. The program was designed to meet third grade science standards, so three classes had the opportunity to experience “Motion, Forces & Energy.”
The Open House at RMS on October 11th featured much more than the usual visits with teachers and tours around the school for the elementary school families. It showcased the progress of students in all of their curriculum disciplines.
The Jaffrey-Rindge School District School Board recently approved the nomination of 17-year JRMS veteran Michelle Durand to the post of Interim Assistant Principal for Safety and Culture for the remainder of the school year. She begins the role on November 12th.
School districts throughout the United States have been reevaluating safety protocols, campus and building designs, and school culture in the past few years given trends in violence in learning environments. JRSD has benefited from the advice of an audit conducted by Homeland Security and a local firm specializing in school security. This feedback and recommendations from the Jaffrey Police and Fire departments has resulted a number of improvements, specifically at the JRMS/CHS campus.
