National Walk to School Day - October 2, 2019

The Jaffrey-Rindge Cooperative School District will participate in the National Walk to School Day this year on Wednesday, October 2, 2019!

Buses will be dropping students off at an off-campus location so students may walk to school on that day. Students who are normally driven to school are also invited to to join their classmates at the drop-off site. Parents and guardians are encouraged to walk too!

Drop-off locations and other information can be found below:

Jaffrey Grade School

Regular walkers: May walk to school as usual.

Bus drop-off location: St. Patrick School parking lot

Car riders drop-off location: St. Patrick Church Parking Lot

Drop-off time: 8:10 a.m. to 8:25 a.m.

Route to school: Students will walk down Charlonne Street to the JGS playground.

Preschool students: Should come to school their regular way.

NOTE: Parents/guardians who wish to walk with their children can park at St. Patrick’s church.

Rindge Memorial School

Bus Drop-off location: Rindge Town Common

Car riders drop-off location: Rindge Meetinghouse

Drop-off time: 8:10 a.m. to 8:25 a.m.

Route to School: Students will walk down School Street to school

NOTE: Parents/guardians who wish to walk with their children can park at the Rindge Town Office, or Ingalls Memorial Library.

Jaffrey-Rindge Middle School/Conant High School

Regular Walkers: May walk to school as usual.

Bus Drop-off location: Stadium Field parking lot

Car riders drop-off location: stadium field parking lot (curb-side drop-offs only, please be sure to not park in this lot so that buses can move freely.)

Drop-off time: 6:50 a.m. to 7:20 a.m.

Route to School: Students will walk through the athletic fields on turnpike road and then up the path that leads to the JRMS/CHS entrance

NOTE: Parents/guardians who wish to walk with their children or students with their licenses that wish to walk with their peers can park in the JRMS/CHS parking lot and walk down to the Stadium Field Parking lot. Please do not park at the stadium field parking lot if you plan on walking.

All designated bus drop-off sites will have faculty, staff, and volunteers guiding students on the walk to their school. A snack will be available for students at the drop-off sites.

Though this is a fun and exciting event, it is not mandatory. Parents can drop students off at the main entrance to their school if they choose not to participate and regular walkers may travel to school their normal way.

There will be a bus available at each drop-off location to take students who aren’t able to participate or who choose not to participate to their school.
